Inspired by On Kawara's date paintings, I set myself a seven-day rule: one gouache painting a day and if I didn't complete one within 24 hours, I would destroy it. Every canvas had to record the date, the time I sat down, my coordinates, and the temperature in both Fahrenheit and Celsius—plus, as a CD student, a different typeface each day.
